仁王像という方が馴染み深いでしょうか？　答えは【警備チーム】です。

金剛力士蔵はお寺の門で、睨みを利かせています。彼等は仏教全体を警備する護法神（ごほうしん）なんですね。ですから、すべての如来チームを守る、警備チームに属します。
この奈良・東大寺の南大門の金剛力士像は高さ8.5mの木造の巨像で、その迫力は「すっげ〜」の一言です。作られたのは鎌倉時代1203年で、有名な仏師、運慶（うんけい）・快慶（かいけい）が弟子と共にたった75日間で作り上げたといわれています。
